The 7000 uses a wider 2-3/4 inch roller housing; the 5000 uses a 2-1/4 inch housing. Both use a tandem roller design, but the axle spacing differs by 3/8 inch.

To identify your series, check the etched mark in the glass corner or the sticker on the frame header. If the sticker is sun-faded, measure the roller housing width through the bottom track access hole. We carry both OEM ViewLux rollers and the Slide-EZ SEZ-275 and SEZ-335 aftermarket equivalents, which match the axle spacing and load rating. The aftermarket units use a stainless axle and sealed bearing that we have found holds up better in Jupiter’s salt-air environment than the standard OEM zinc axle, which tends to corrode at the 6- to 8-year mark near the coast.

Signs Your ViewLux Sliding & Patio Door Is Failing

• The door sticks or skips in the track. This usually means the tandem rollers have flat-spotted or the axle bearings have seized. In Jupiter, salt accumulation in the bottom track accelerates this; we see it most often in homes east of U.S. 1 where the onshore breeze carries salt inland.

• The screen door jumps the track or won’t roll. Screen rollers are smaller and use a plastic wheel that degrades faster in UV. They are a separate part number from the panel rollers, though both ride in the same track profile.
